Klee

Klee is a desktop-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) application designed to secure and enhance the management of files, notes, and tasks. Operating on a local basis, it prioritizes user data security and privacy by avoiding unnecessary data transmissions to the cloud. Rooted in advanced AI features, Klee offers multiple functionalities. This includes a native MacOS chat app, built for efficiency using Swift and SwiftUI. Klee also uses open-source large language models like Llama 3 and Mistral for superior performance. One key feature is the transformation of note-taking into a brainstorming and output tool which significantly eases traditional note management. Another impressive feature of Klee is the use of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) on-device for the organization and display of local files. The RAG enhances its response capabilities by using data from a local knowledge base. In order to implement RAG locally, Klee segments documents into smaller chunks, vectorizes and stores them for the retrieval process. When a query is received, the system retrieves relevant chunks from the local knowledge base and integrates them into the large language model to generate the final response. Therefore, Klee gives its users a completely private method of managing their data while harnessing powerful AI capabilities.
